How to Keep the Motivation High
I’m always asked this question. “How can we keep the motivation above the roof?”
Well, it is a fact that no-one likes to be told what to do. Especially children. We adults “KIND OF” can handle it or not. We might run into a boost of cortisol (the stress hormone) and our learning journey is over, さよなら, und tschüß, au revoir, good bye.
By asking a simple question : what would you like to do today, and I always ask this question to my young learners of English (between 5 years and 9 years old) “What would you like to do today” That way we keep the brain in a “calm” state, where we CAN and WANT TO learn.
It’s the ownership I give to my learners that they can decide what they would like to do.
